Dear Hatch Community:

It took the hard work of over 100 volunteers, over 200 students, the PTO, teachers, staff and parents of Hatch to make Gallery Hatch 2006 a success, and we cannot thank you enough.

We had a wonderful time, from t-shirt printing to music and poetry, to bidding on the 100-plus auction items, live auction and raffles, and are happy to say that together we've raised over $7,350 for Hatch School this year! But the highlight of the event was the amazing artistic ability of our students. We are so lucky to have our children going to a school where art and music are woven into the school day, and our teachers, Mr. DuPont and Mrs. Mann in particular, inspire our kids on a daily basis.

We're not quite ready to start planning 2007's event, but would like to line up the chairs for next year. Edie Fortman will not be able to do a chair position next year (we'll be knocking on her door regularly for help!), but Laurie Freivogel is a glutton for punishment, and will chair a position again. Because this is such a huge event, with so many facets to it, it would be a really manageable job for four - yes 4 - chairpeople. We know everyone works - whether paid or not! - and that we all have families, but the benefits to the students and school are countless. Please volunteer!
